    • Change Description:
      Hide
      Changes as follows:

      Add a new type called DV_PROPORTION.

      Features:
      numerator [1..1], type = real
      denominator [1..1], type = real
      precision: Integer

      Type:
        percent - denominator == 100; e.g. 40%, 2.5%
        unitary - denominator == 1; e.g. 2.5, 3
        ratio; 1:2, 3.5:1
        fraction - (implies is_integral is true); '1/2', '3/2'
        integer_fraction - (implies is_integral is true); '1/2', '1 1/2'

      functions:
        is_integral: boolean - denominator and numerator are integers

      Remove the existing DV_QUANTIY_RATIO type and its documentation.

      Description

      openEHR data types currently do not have a quantitative type representing the idea of a
      pure ratio, e.g. for titers, 1:128 (integral), Na:K concentration ratio (unitary denominator),
      albumin:creatinine ratio, and % e.g. red cell distribution width (RDW) which
      is the width of a distribution of RBC widths.
      The characteristics of this data type are:
      - units of numerator and denominator are the same, or else don't matter
      - values can be real or integral
      - should be expressible as a percentage if required
