The Architecture overview is a good starting document to browse/read
Have a look at the (clickable) archetypes mindmap and the archetypes page to get a hint what the AM (Archetype model, configurable at runtime) can express in addition to the underlying general RM (Reference model, impemented as software)
The EHR IM spec. is useful for getting into more detail regarding the RM
