Mission
Define and formalize clinical questionnaires, such as Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs), into openEHR models through clear modeling guidelines and technical support. Establish direct collaboration with the organizations responsible for these clinical instruments to ensure their content remains accurate, validated, and up to date. Address licensing, copyright, and administrative challenges to help reduce the legal and technical barriers to implementation and reuse.

Aim of the PROMs WG
The aim of the PROMs Working Group is to promote the standardized representation and implementation of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) and other clinical questionnaires within openEHR. The group supports the creation of reusable, interoperable, and clinically validated openEHR models by providing guidance, technical expertise, and best practices for modeling PROMs.
The working group also aims to establish collaboration with questionnaire owners, standards bodies, healthcare organizations, and research institutions to ensure that the models remain accurate, up to date, and aligned with clinical and regulatory requirements. In addition, it seeks to facilitate adoption by addressing challenges related to licensing, copyright, governance, translation, and implementation workflows, helping reduce both legal and technical barriers for healthcare and research projects.
Another key objective is to maintain visibility and oversight of the current status of PROMs models within the Clinical Knowledge Manager (CKM), including incubator projects, in order to reduce duplication and the proliferation of similar models. The group works in coordination with the International Editorial Board (IEB) to support the review, harmonization, and inclusion of new PROMs archetypes and related models into the openEHR ecosystem.
