Event: openEHR roles and competencies: setting the foundations for an openEHR competitive industry
Date: 2024-11-05 at 12:25 pm
Location: Elm room, Wokefield Estate in Reading (UK)
Summary
With the proliferation of the adoption of openEHR-based systems and solutions, it becomes essential that employers and those working in this area understand the roles that are needed as well as the skills each role needs to achieve quality, cost efficient system design and implementation. We aim to present the results of the work of the openEHR Education Program Board in defining a set of roles and the associated competencies to be used by the industry as a framework to define their professional workforce and the desired skills to be gained.
The defined roles range from the general public and citizens interested in how their health information is being managed and is kept private, to decision makers, educators, knowledge managers or implementers that directly participate in the development of openEHR solutions.
For governments, health organizations or decision makers, this documentation will help to clarify the needed participants and their roles when defining an openEHR implementation or adoption project. These roles and competencies will be the basis for future openEHR professional certifications to be developed by openEHR International. They will also be the basis for defining the target groups in openEHR courses and educational activities.
